Inside Job is about the late-2000s financial crisis. Director Charles Ferguson explains that the film covers “the systemic corruption of the United States by the financial services industry and the consequences of that systemic corruption.” Ferguson argues that “all this was foreseeable. A number of people predicted the lack of regulation and the dealing in worthless securities would lead to disaster.” In five parts, the film explores how changes in the policy environment and banking practices helped create the financial crisis. When the dust finally settled, and the players who caused the debacle exposed, not one was prosecuted or went to jail.
