Laura, a Spanish woman living in Argentina, and her teenage daughter, Irene, and young son, Diego, return to their small hometown in Spain to attend the wedding of Laura’s younger sister. Laura runs into her old flame Paco while Irene hangs out with a teenaged boy named Felipe. Shortly after the wedding festivities are over, Laura grows worried when she can’t find Irene, who appears to be missing. Laura receives a note: Irene has been kidnapped and Laura will have to fork over 300,000 Euros if she wants Irene back, alive. Laura’s husband, Alejandro, arrives from Argentina. But Alejandro is an alcoholic and bankrupt, so he’s no help. But what does emerge is a confession by Laura to Paco that Irene is his biological daughter. Paco’s wife, Bea, is furious when Paco tells her he plans to sell part of his land to pay the ransom. Irene will be rescued but Paco’s involvement has opened deep family wounds.
