Young & Beautiful

Drama | French with English subtitles | 93 minutes

On a summer holiday in the south of France with her family, 17-year-old Isabelle loses her virginity. It’s an unsatisfactory experience. After returning to Paris, Isabelle finds it more exciting and very lucrative to become a high-end prostitute. Her clients are generally older and the sex takes place in fashionable hotels. Tragically, while having sex, her 63-year-old client, Georges, has a heart attack and dies. Police investigate and inform Sylvie, Isabelle’s mother,  her daughter is a prostitute and was present when Georges died. Sylvie is shocked. In a ballistic outburst, Sylvie  pummels Isabelle. Later, Alice, Georges widow, asks to see Isabelle. They meet in a hotel lobby. The older, more sophisticated Alice tries to understand Isabelle and what drove her to have paid sex with her husband.
