The episodes make for thoughtful, gorgeously produced drama. Accessibly austere and immaculately polished, “THE CROWN” remains a model of carefully crafted episodic storytelling and a trenchant examination of the nature of power. Creator Peter Morgan has accomplished his mission: turning what could have been an awkward in-between season into a robust chapter of a still top-notch saga.
“THE CROWN”—the scintillating Netflix drama, improving with age—is not at all shy about putting on a show, doling out all the pageantry and suds necessary. Season 3 delivers 10 entertaining episodes of personal history that are equal parts political, poignant and juicy.
By peering through what the queen calls ‘the mystery and the protocol’ to witness the stifled humanity of these iconic public figures, this drama truly is a crowning achievement.
