Bye Bye Birdie

As popular rock ‘n’ roll star Conrad Birdie prepares to go into the Army, Albert Peterson, an unsuccessful songwriter, and his girlfriend, Rosie DeLeon, are hoping Conrad will sing their song when he appears on the Ed Sullivan Show. As a publicity stunt, Albert and Rosie pick a teenager, Kim MacAfee to run on the stage and kiss Conrad while he’s performing Albert’s song, “One Last Kiss.” Conrad also attracts a swarm of ecstatic girls all swooning over him. As Conrad is about to kiss Kim, her boyfriend, Hugo, is enraged and attacks Conrad. A fight ensues which gives Albert and Rosie the publicity they were lseeking. In the end, Kim and Hugo mend their relationship, Albert and Rosie prepare to get married, and Conrad bids farewell as he heads off to war.
