Too Big to Fail chronicles the 2008 financial meltdown and the roles played by  Henry Paulson (U.S. Treasury Secretary),  Ben Bernanke (Chairman of the Federal Reserve), and Timothy Geithner (President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York). With large investment firms reeling from heavy losses, Paulson urges Congress to provide  funds to rescue these firms. Congress hesitates until Paulson convinces them the country faces another Great Depression if assistance is not provided.  The result is passage of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Paulson informs the banks  they will receive injections of capital from the government. A massive economic meltdown has been averted.
