Info
When Avery Bullard, president of  Tredway Corporation, a major furniture manufacturing company, suddenly dies from a heart attack, it sets off a scramble which of a handful of vice presidents will succeed him. Holding power is Julia Tredway, Avery’s widow and a major stockholder. At first it looks like Loren Shaw, the numbers-man has the edge. Opposing him are Frederick Alderson, Bullard’s right-hand assistant, and Don Walling, a young and talented furniture designer. Also in the running are Walter Dudley, head of sales,  Jesse Grimm, the production manager, and George Caswel, the corporate lawyer. Avery Bullard died on a Friday; the company has the weekend to decide his successor before the market opens on Monday. The decision will hang on Julia Tredway’s vote.

EXECUTIVE SUITE is a magnificent motion picture that meets the standard of greatness on almost every count. The film holds the viewer from the opening scene building absorbingly to a smashing climax. It is one of the outstanding pictures of recent years.

The Hollywood Reporter

This John Houseman production is a real pro job of a calibre that doesn’t come along too often. Cameron Hawley’s novel, EXECUTIVE SUITE, was good reading and Ernest Lehman has fashioned it into screen form as a dramatically interesting motion picture humanizing big business and its upper echelon personalities.
